Terms & conditions

A shared understanding of using Kynro, caring for your account, and respecting the stories you preserve.

Draft updated October 1, 2026

1. Using Kynro

These draft terms cover the family-history service at kynro.me. The legal operator is pending. For questions, contact hello@kynro.me. By creating an account or using the service, you agree to the applicable terms. If you do not agree, do not use the service. Account holders must be adults able to enter into an agreement under the laws that apply to them.

2. Your account

Provide accurate account information, protect your password, and only access accounts you are authorised to use. You are responsible for activity you authorise through your account. Password recovery may not be available; check the sign-in page and keep your credentials safe.

3. Your content belongs to you

You retain the rights you hold in uploaded family content. You give Kynro permission to store, process, display, and reproduce that content only as needed to operate the service for you, including optimising images and generating exports. You must have the rights and permissions needed to upload and use the content, including respect for copyright and living relatives’ privacy.

Kynro’s branding, application code, and service design remain the property of their respective owners. These terms do not transfer ownership of them.

4. Respectful, lawful use

Do not upload unlawful content, infringe someone’s rights, harass others, distribute malicious files, bypass access controls, access another person’s private data, or interfere with the service. Do not use Kynro to store identity documents, financial credentials, or sensitive records unrelated to legitimate family-history use.

5. Service capabilities and limits

Kynro helps you organise information you supply. It does not verify family relationships, historical records, or legal identity. The current service supports an individual private workspace, not collaborative editing or a public family directory.

Uploads, account storage, and availability are subject to technical limits. Images may be resized or compressed; keep your originals. Maintain independent backups using archive exports. Changes can take time to save, and failed or interrupted saves may leave edits unsaved. Kynro is not a substitute for archival storage.

6. Privacy and removing content

The Privacy policy describes information handling. You can edit your workspace, export it, or erase family data in Account settings. Erasure does not close your account or remove copies you downloaded or shared. For account closure, email privacy@kynro.me. For content complaints, email hello@kynro.me.

7. Availability and changes

The service may change, experience interruptions, or be discontinued. Access may be restricted to address misuse, security concerns, or legal requirements. Where reasonably possible, we will provide notice of material changes or discontinuation and an opportunity to export your content. Any future paid offering should disclose its price and billing terms before you agree to it.

8. Responsibility and legal rights

To the extent permitted by applicable law, Kynro is provided “as is” and “as available,” without a guarantee of uninterrupted operation, accuracy, or fitness for a particular purpose. To the extent permitted by law, the operator is not responsible for indirect or consequential loss arising from use of the service.

Nothing in these terms excludes responsibilities that cannot legally be excluded or limits mandatory consumer rights. Applicable governing law and the operator’s jurisdiction must be confirmed before these terms are finalised.

9. Changes and questions

Revisions will be posted here with an updated date. Where required, material changes will be notified before taking effect. For questions, disputes, or rights complaints, contact hello@kynro.me.
